On the weekend of the 26th and 27th of March the All Japan Young Koi Show gets underway. As the name suggests this show is focused towards younger koi. However, age is actually irrelevant and the term "Young" relates to the size of koi. Koi up to 63 cm can enter the show.

The AJYKS works almost identically to the AJKS except the size divisions are slightly different. 12cm, 15cm, 18cm then in 5cm increments, up to 63cm. As well as Males and Females competing against one another in all size divisions. The term "bu" isn't a direct translation of "cm" but it is the class/division. For example the 63bu class is for koi between 58-63cm.

We will be visiting the AJYKS during our Spring buying trip so keep an eye out on the blog and Facebook for lots of photos!

The International Junior Koi Show is also just around the corner, hosted on the 23rd and 24th of April this show is again focused towards younger koi. This time though up to 36cm in length. The divisions range from 12bu up to 36bu in 3cm increments. This is the 4th year that the show has been held and it is proving to be a great success.

Below are koi that we will be entering into the upcoming shows. Fingers crossed we'll be able to bring back some silverware to the UK!

This week we head to Japan, we'll be on the hunt to add a few more special koi to attend the shows.
