The original Kamihata feeder is used by hundreds of Japanese breeders up and down Japan. This superbly manufactured koi feeder will provide years of trouble free service and when the unit is solar powered it benefits from no running costs. The QK Japanese Style Feeder has been developed specifically for the UK whereby sun light isn't always in abundance, it boasts a solar panel double the size of the original Kamihata feeder. For when the solar panel can't charge the battery enough, you can also plug the feeder in to a mains feed. 

This feeder can feed up to 10 times a day, hold 6kg of food and is distributed to the pond by a high speed rotating impeller. This type of feed distribution is much more preferred, compared to the hopper style feeders. Distribution of food over the surface of the pond means that Koi in the pond do not aggressively crash into one another while feeding, thus reducing damage. The range of the distribution can be altered from approximately 3 feet to 15 feet (Dependant on height of feeder, pellet weight/size).

At the heart of this Koi feeder lies the advanced computer control system with its easy to use control panel. This control panel allows for the complete customisation of all the devices inherent features and settings, including the speed, distance, the number and times of daily feeds, and the amount of food to be distributed. All of this information is accessible via the easy to use menu system displayed via the unit's LCD display.

QK Japanese style feeder settings:

• Press and hold on/off button to activate/deactivate the unit
• Once the home screen is illuminated, press and hold the TIME button to set your current time zone. Press the TIME button to move between hrs/min/sec and adjust by pressing the +/- buttons accordingly. Press TIME again once the seconds have been set and you will be returned to the home screen with the newly set time showing.  
• To set the feeding schedule press the TIME button once, this will show you the time for feed 1 of 10. Set the first time for when you want the feeder to turn on and feed. Toggle through hrs/min/sec by pressing the TIME button and adjust time with the +/- buttons.
• Set the second time as the time you want the feeding to stop on that cycle. For example, if you want the feeder to start at 1pm and feed for a duration of 15 seconds select the timings as follows:
  13:00:00 on
  13:00:15 off
• Press the TIME button again to cycle through feeds 1 to 10. You can go back by pressing MENU and this will take you back to the beginning of that time feed, pressing MENU again will take you back to the previous time feed.
• If you do not wish to feed 10 times a day, simply set the first and second time as the same for the feeder to move on to the next feeding time later in the day. For example:
  17:00:00 on
  17:00:00 off
  This will mean that the feeder doesn’t disperse any food at 5pm.
• When on the homepage press the +/- buttons to alter the distance and spread of the food as it leaves the unit. You will see the number in the top right of the screen increase or decrease accordingly. For example, feeding on spread 1/15 will disperse food only a few inches in front of the feeder. Alternatively feeding on spread 15/15 will project the food much further (approx. 3m away from the mouth of the feeder).
• Please note that the spread of the food doesn’t increase or decrease the amount of food used, it simply increases the disc speed to disperse the food further. To increase the volume of food given, increase the number of seconds the feeder is on for on that time feed.
• To test the projection of food press MENU to start a manual feed. It will automatically shut off after 15 seconds. Press MENU again during operation to stop the feed sooner than the 15 second test time.  
• To activate the times you have set for feeding press AUTO. This will then appear next to OFF on the control panel and the feeder is now activated for use. To stop the cycle of feeds simply press AUTO again so that only OFF shows in the left corner of the screen. If the AUTO button isn’t illuminated on the home screen the feeder will not be active for the times you have set.
